"Erazo Vineyards is our estate. The vines are unique and very specific parcels, chosen after deep soil mapping. We seek the most interesting profiles: different types of granite - red, white - at different depths, with different degrees of fragmentation of the granitic rock. It's the result of a long and beautiful journey: from ignorance to the deepest understanding. And what I learned on that path is simple: removing layers over time. First in winemaking, then in the vineyard, until reaching extreme purity, where it's impossible to remove anything else. There, in that moment, we arrived at these unique parcels. Today we call them our 12 apostles." - Leonardo Erazo, Winemaker
"The 2025 País comes from the historic El Viaje en el Tiempo vineyard, planted in 1798 in Guarilihue. It delivers a vivid, contemporary reading of the variety, rooted in tradition yet defined by purity. The nose opens with orange peel, soft sour cherry, delicate damp earth and a hint of coastal forest. The palate is juicy, with light grip and finely tuned, talc-like tannins that combine structure with a sense of weightlessness. Long, energetic and precise, it is a benchmark País that distills the essence of Itata's modern style." - 97 Points, Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous
"Vivid, bright nose with lots of natural concentration and layers. Wild herbs, white pepper and stony citrus, juniper and wild berries. The tannins are super stony and fresh, with little flesh needed to coat them. Quintessentially flavorful but elegant and transparent in form, as it should be. All destemmed. Drink or hold." - 96 Points, Zekun Shuai, James Suckling
"This other-worldly vineyard was planted in the late 1700s! Pais and cinsault and carignan landed in this place. Amazing stuff in the ye olde wilds of Itata in Chile, and surrounds. Big energy, thirst-slaking in its style, red cherry and rose hip tea, cumin notes, kombu and black peppery notes and a touch of ground almond. It’s got a washy of exotic botanicals layered over it all too, things that squeak and bounce in sour, bitter and faintly sweet, but a freshness as a sense of things. Totally wonderful." - 93 Points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
