"For wine nerds like me: A warm winter with low rainfall prompted early budburst. Average temperatures during spring and summer slowed ripening. Hand-picked on the 8th of March, wild yeast fermented in open fermenters, 44% whole bunches. Pressed to barrel and matured for 11 months in French oak (22% new, Francois Frères). Unfined." - Michael Hall, Winemaker
"A soft, supple pinot noir with dark cherry fruit coupled to twiggy, herbal elements, a sprinkle of sooty spice, truffle/mushroom elements and a touch of the savoury character that gets called undergrowth. The finish fans out and thins a little, a quibble, as the general gist of the wine is easy pleasure, lots of pinosity and a good dose of savoury charm. Value packed, therefore." - 93 Points, Mike Bennie
