Description / Reviews
"Excellent winter rains set the vineyards up at the beginning of the season with good soil moisture, supporting an even budburst and the rapid development of a healthy canopy. A warm spring followed and conditions during flowering were mild and calm. Veraison began early in January and summer continued dry. A short burst of warmth in early February accelerated early ripening, however cooler conditions prevailed in the lead up to harvest. The stable, warm, and dry conditions of the season resulted in wines with exceptional phenolic ripeness, concentrated flavours and firm ripe tannins with remarkable brightness and intensity. Bright garnet in colour with a juicy nose of red cherry fruit, hints of cinnamon, cardamom and black pepper spice dusted over pink rose petals. On the palate the red fruit is juicy and tangy with firm, fine silky tannins and a fleshy vibrant finish. A delicious mouthful – will match very well to a little chilli or Moroccan spices on grilled lamb cutlets." - Winemaker Notes
