Description / Reviews
"Pale colour. Fresh tropical fruit, lemon curd, grapefruit aromas with underlying cashew nut, vanilla notes. Well concentrated lemon curd, grapefruit, hint pineapple fruits, fine lacy touch al dente textures and some underlying marzipan, vanilla notes. Finishes crisp and fruity. A very pleasing style. At the middle of fermentation, the wine was racked into 228-litre French oak barriques (32% new), to complete alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Nine months in oak for around nine months. Drink now – 2032 14% alc" - 94 Points, Andrew Caillard, The Vintage Journal
"An impressive Margaret River Chardonnay from the Ribbon Vale Vineyard, handpicked fruit was delivered to the winery for hand sorting and whole bunch pressing. Fermentation began in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures before, at the halfway point, the wine was transferred to French oak barriques, 32% of which were new, to complete that fermentation, and also malolactic fermentation. The wine spent nine months in oak for maturation. Gleaming gold in colour, the nose exhibits notes of nectarines, peaches, grapefruit pith, a flick of well-integrated oak and oatmeal. A slightly riper style, the wine is richly flavoured and the texture seamless. Of medium length with a minerally backing, this will provide attractive drinking for at least the next half dozen years, longer for those with patience." - 93 Points, Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot
"A spicy nose of nutmeg and white and yellow nectarines mixes with subtle scents of fresh herbs. The core is flavoursome and dense, its weighty presence drills down deep with flavours of custard apples and brioche. Balance comes on the finish thanks to a cleansing line of acidity that tempers the richness. This is drinking nicely now." - 92 Points, Gabrielle Poy, The Real Review
