Between 4:30pm-6:30pm this Friday 2nd we are delighted to showcase Gentle Folk Wine's latest release of Single Vineyard wines. We certainly have our favourites in the lineup, and loyalists will surely be impressed once again by the likes of their estate Sauvignon Blanc, the Scary Gully Chardonnay, a brand new Monomeith Pinot Noir and the world-bending Onkaparinga Valley Sangiovese.
After a challenging 2025 vintage (one that was dry and punishingly hot), Gareth and Rainbo's continued efforts to improve the Gentle Folk winery from top to tail are a marvel to behold, with efforts paying off ten-fold. After two consecutive years of very limited harvest... finally an abundance! With the opportunity to try new techniques, maceration lengths and even vessels.
Elanto Vineyards and De La Beche will then take the spotlight on Saturday 3rd, hosted by Elanto winemaker Sandro Mosele, we are oh-so-lucky! His newest vintage marks the first release of the Ironstone and Basalt Single Vineyard Pinot Noirs. Both of which were planted by Tim Brown, a highly sought-after viticulturist who has planted vines for the likes of Bindi, William Downie and Ten Minutes by Tractor. Tim's Macedon Ranges project, De La Beche burst onto the scene last year with a splash and a bang. You ask yourself: "Close-planted, high-density? What does that mean?" Come along to the tasting and you'll find out.

"Monomeith is one of the great vineyards of the Adelaide Hills and it sits in its own very cool valley on the top ridge of Ashton. "The same vineyard as the Chardonnay in Summertown in the heart of the Piccadilly Valley. This is an impressively powerful Pinot noir from the Adelaide Hills with red fruit, wild strawberries and brambles on the nose leading to a very fine tannin. Its slightly juicier and lighter bodied than the other two Pinot noirs, making it slightly more approachable at this early stage." - Gentle Folk, Winemaker
Onkaparinga Valley Sangiovese 2025

"It's so great to be able to work with grapes that are as loved and meticulously farmed as these twenty-seven year old vines from the boniest and highest section of the Turnbull Family Vineyard in Charleston. This is the second rendition of this wine and it's a ripper. Some more meatiness and red fruit than the cool and late 2023 vintage, but still showing plenty of delicate aromatics, spiciness and tannins. It's such a great variety for the region and we hope to see more of it going into the ground and mouths in the future. " - Gentle Folk, Winemaker

Fuller bodied, rich, almost al dente with its phenolics and layers of texture via creamy, nutty lees. It’s detailed yet supple, with a succulence thanks to the all-important uplifting acidity. The medium-bodied palate is evenly poised, laden with filigree tannins (lots of them) and energising acidity; oak (25% new) completely integrated. "The first foray into winemaking for star viticulturist Tim Brown, De La Bêche comprises a trio of Burgundian wines grown on his 0.5ha high-density Taradale vineyard. The site was established in ’21 at a density of 15,000 vines p/ha, planted mostly to pinot noir with a little bit of chardonnay and aligoté, with the first vintage in ’24. As the remarkable response to the debut release in ’25 indicates, De La Bêche is one of the most exciting new additions to the Australian wine landscape, and a label to closely watch." - Anna Webster, Halliday Wine Companion

"Two Lieux-Dits wines released this vintage, Basalt and Ironstone; fascinating to try them side-by-side. So different. Of course, that’s the point. To date, this is the lowest yielding site; it’s mid-slope, west side and next to Basalt. This needed a bit more coaxing so a decent decant is worth the effort, plus it has more structure and power than its sibling. It’s not just word association either as this has strong ferrous aromas, pomegranate, wormwood, a touch of wintergreen and warm earth akin to freshly tilled soil. Beautiful aromatics. Elanto Basalt Pinot Noir 2024

"Since planting Australia’s most ambitious high-density pinot noir vineyard in ’18, Sandro Mosele has already identified unique parcels, this mid-slope and off the east side of the vineyard where basalt is closer to the surface. Such an individual imprint: incredible perfume of wild strawberries and black cherries with forest floor, Middle Eastern spices, menthol and orange zest with more savoury nuances coming through. Complex and detailed. There's a little pinch of green walnut, but mostly sweet fruit coats the mid-weighted palate, as do abundant supple tannins, before the cleansing acidity does its job." - 97 Points, Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion
