Description / Reviews

"This is a wine of great finesse yet impressive power, tight structure yet generosity of flavour. Mature vines grown on the rich gravelly loam soils on the north facing slopes of the Willyabrup Valley. The fruit is 100% Gin-Gin clone and all of the grapes are hand picked, hand sorted and barrel fermented. Ripe melony, peachy characters yet noticeable restraint and subtlety. An unctuous mouth-feel yet with taut, fine acidity on the finish. It will start to be at its best about 3 years from release and will continue to mature gracefully for another 10 years. An ideal accompaniment to seafood and white meat dishes. Ideal cellaring temperature is a constant 14-16 degrees celsius." - Pierro, Winemaker

"From one of Margaret River’s great chardonnay producers, this is yet another brilliant example of the style that has made Pierro so admired. You wouldn’t guess it came from a warm year—it’s delicate and fine, with a pristine brightness. The nose shows light grapefruit, citrus, a touch of butterscotch, and a subtle mealy note in the background. The palate has real zing, with lively, pristine acidity driving through to a sustained finish. A chalky, minerally edge adds to the linear feel and precision. Another outstanding Pierro chardonnay." - 98 Points, Ray Jordan, WA Wine Review

"Sumptuous chardonnay of chiseled edges, briny minerality, judicious nougat and sandalwood oak seasoning, the undercurrent of concentrated, just ripe nectarine, a squelchy of green pineapple and some slickness from toffee apple going on. Also, just a suggestion of white mushroom, a pleasing kinda savoury note through the palate. Density, persistence, almost palate staining in a way, with a freshness, just so, balancing out the generosity. Not the most turbo-charged release, perhaps an epoch of more restraint within the Pierro oeuvre. Class act, is the byline." - 96 Points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
