"Fiano is now well and truly part of our regional collection. It's the perfect Italian variety to be grown in nearby Hilltops. Fiano has the ability to produce excellent wine from whatever the weather conditions throw at it and you still have this lovely dry wine filled with citrus and pear with dashes of honeysuckle and spice. It's just the perfect everyday dry white wine that has a tingling acidity and a light salty finish." - Ravensworth, Winemaker
"The Regional Fiano is sourced entirely from the shale-rich Bit of Heaven vineyard in Hilltops, which sits at an elevation of 580 meters. Following 2024’s example, this year’s wine is pure Fiano (previous years have included Vermentino and Grechetto). The vintage was dry and easy, with a fairly early harvest for this elevation. In the winery, the grapes were destemmed and pressed to a mix of ceramic eggs and older demi-muids for a cool ferment. The wine rested in these vessels on lees for a spell before bottling in late October." - Bibendum, Distributor
"From Hilltops. Something extra here. Ripper drink. Settles into a savoury hum yet has the tonic water and pear needed to make it fresh and fruity, a touch pleasingly bitter, balanced in its elements. Scents of hay and lightly salted cashew, lemon blossom, nashi pear, lemon thyme and ginger. Flavours more in that pear/tonic water zone, as said before, though the finish rolls into a pleasing haze of texture and a saline-nutty undertow. Great weight to flood the senses, a huge sense of charm. This gets the motors running." - 93 Points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
"Pale straw and bright in the glass. Lifted aromas of melon skin, white flowers, sea spray, stone fruit and honeysuckle. Textured, mouth-filling, layered and generous, with plenty of stone fruit, citrus and spice. Smart length and shape." - Aaron Brasher, The Real Review
