Description
“Musigny is a wine of silk and lace... smell the scents of a damp garden, the perfume of a rose, a violet bathed in morning dew” – Gaston Roupnel
In the heart of France lies the famed wine region of Burgundy, revered for producing the world's finest examples of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. With centuries of wine growing and winemaking history, hundreds of different vineyards and thousands of producers, no wine region in the world can boast such a complex and diverse landscape.
Within the Cotes de Beaune and Cotes de Nuits there are many famous village names that quicken the heartbeat of wine connoisseurs around the world, with bottles labelled as Volnay, Vosne-Romanee, Chambolle- Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin to name but a few. Featuring the finest wines on the market, including Premier and Grand Cru, we compare the differences between the various flavours and structures of Burgundy’s most famous villages, as well as examine the soils, vineyards, producer philosophies and winemaking techniques that influence them. This one night masterclass perfectly introduces the great red wines of Burgundy, but we do warn; you may never be able to drink anything other than Burgundy again!
