Description / Reviews
"A blend of three distinctive parcels: Grenache from Blewitt Springs, Shiraz from Ingoldby Road, and Mataro from Sellicks Hill. The result is a wine of depth and balance, with a richly layered flavour profile. Aromas of red cherry, warm spice, and subtle hints of leather lead into a concentrated palate. The tannins are structured and fine, giving way to a long, nuanced, and satisfying finish." - Winemaker Notes
"70/16/14% grenache/mourvèdre/shiraz from the Brini/Perkins/Stevens vineyards. This has all the earthy iron-laced appeal of classic regional GSM but, as is the Saltfleet way, it does so with a good degree of verve and freshness. The red-fruited grenache leads the chorus, with cracked spices, bay laurel and hardy herbs. There’s a flex to the palate, the grenache swelling with red-fruited generosity, though never becoming broad with it, just pleasingly generous, a carefully built skein of tannins controlling the show. This benefits meaningfully with air, becoming more floral, the grenache asserting itself more, fragrantly lifting with wild red berries and cherries. It's just so detailed and engaging. Give it some time and it’s an utter charm." - 95 Points, Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion
