"Terroir and high altitude of the vineyards give the wine spicy notes as well as outstanding complexity. Langhe DOC Nebbiolo is crisp and vibrant. At the heart of its structure, sweet floral and red fruit notes along with hints of rose petal. On the palate we find mint and liquorice, which become even more persistent towards the finish. After meticulous selection of the grapes, alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously. Maceration on skins is followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Ageing is carried out in barriques and large barrels." - Sottimano, Winemaker
"The 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo is a promising wine that shows what was possible in this tricky vintage, even among entry-level offerings. Deep and layered in the glass, the 2024 gradually begins to open with some air. Its depth, persistence and balance are all notable, while the aromatics are typical of a wine that is still in barrel. Macerated cherry, rose petal, blood orange and exotic spice notes abound. The Langhe Nebbiolo looks to be the most successful of the entry-level Sottimano wines in 2024.
