Description / Reviews
"The 2019 MC is a direct descendant of our Albert Shiraz and sourced from the same old vine vineyards which consistently deliver fruit of depth, structure and personality – the perfect foundation for a sparkling wine with presence and longevity. A fine, velvety mousse unfurls across the palate, carrying dark plum, boysenberry and black cherry fruit. Layers of exotic spice, charcuterie, licorice and subtle earthy notes emerge with air, reflecting the old vine origins and extended élevage. The palate is rich yet agile – plush Barossa fruit framed by savoury tannins and a refreshing acid line that keeps everything in balance. The finish is long, plummy and gently savoury, lingering just long enough to demand another glass." - Winemaker Notes
"Deep, dark and brooding colour; the nose shows a large helping of oak, alongside black fruits and prunes, while the palate is very full-bodied and firj with lashings of tannins that dry and toughen the finish. Very chewy without food: serve it with a hearty meal of barbecued meats. And cellar it: it will reward keeping for quite a few years yet." - 92 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
