Description
"I source Grenache from three vineyards on the ‘floor’ of the Barossa Valley for making this wine. It’s usually based however off of vineyard planted in 1937. I try and pick Grenache early – not as result of trying to necessarily make lower alcohol wines, but to preserve natural acidity, which in turn gives this wine its freshness." - Tim Smith
"Medium-deep crimson. Fresh musky plum, chinotto, touch Campari aromas. Smooth and supple palate with lovely red plum, strawberry, Campari flavours, fine loose-knit chalky textures and fresh indelible acidity. A touch of star anise/heat at the finish. Drink now through to 2018." – 95 Points, Andrew Caillard MW, The Vintage Journal
