// 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Malbec
"A selection of our premier vineyard blocks on classic gravelly loam, planted to ideal clones and shaped by optimal aspect and cooling ocean breezes. Together, these elements capture the distinctive hallmarks of truly fine Margaret River Cabernet. Very deep fruit reminiscent of black fig, blood plum and cassis with a hint of vanilla. Savoury notes delicately imply wax, sandy earth, red chilli, with a subtle suggestion of roast beef ends, finishing with fragrant, polished oak. A classic rich and creamy front palate with deep blackberry, fig and mulberry fruit, lifted by fresh acidity and firm dry tannins, leaving a perfume-filled, plush and powerful finish." - Winemaker Notes
"Deep-ish, bright red-purple colour with a deep cassis, mulberry and spice bouquet, background mint and dried herb notes. The wine is intense and bright on the tongue, fresh and bold with serious intensity of cabernet flavour, the fruit sweet on the mid-palate before a crescendo of firm cabernet (and malbec?) tannins firms and dries the long finish. Real depth and structure here, a serious cabernet that will cellar well for many years." - 96 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
