// Biodynamic Chardonnay
"Folatières comes from the Old French “Foletière,” meaning “a place haunted by will-o’-the-wisps,” legendary beings, sprites of lively and light grace. Popular imagination pictured will-o’-the-wisps dancing. The climate is vast and not homogeneous; we have the privilege that our 0.52-hectare vineyard is located in the heart of the cru, halfway up the slope, with two prestigious neighbors on either side (Domaines Leflaive and Leroy). The quality of this terroir, half limestone, half clay, leads us to believe that it is one of the three best Premier Cru vineyards of Puligny, along with “Le Cailleret” and “Les Pucelles.”" - Domaine de Montille, Winemaker
"A large and homogenous 1er Cru vineyard, De Montille has the privilege of a single 0.52 parcel located in the heart of Folatieres, mid-slope, and with two prime biodynamically farming neighbors on each side (Leflaive and Leroy). Fermented in 50% demi-muids, 50% barrels (25% max new oak). Aged one year in demi-muids and barrels, then aged another 5 months in stainless steel. Fine, floral and spicy aromas with a mouthfeel that is generous yet structured and lengthy, indicating long ageing potential." - Polaner Selections, Importer
"Firm reduction dominates the nose. More interesting are the succulent, seductive and attractively textured are quite rich, even suave, while exuding a subtle minerality on the lingering, sappy and balanced finale. This too could be successfully aged or enjoyed after only a few years of keeping. (Drink starting 2030)" - 90-93 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound
