Description / Reviews

"Les Graviers is a climate of Chambolle-Musigny. The vines of this plot are planted from North to South. The roots are deep on clay soil with gravel in the subsoil, which ensure good water retention and supports better hot and heavy summer time. (Graviers means small stones, or gravel). The vines are approximately 30 years old. Hand harvested the grapes are sorted and then vinified usually destemmed with natural yeast in temperature-controlled tanks. Aged in older French oak barrels and terracotta or clay amphora ranging from 320L to 750L. The average percentage of wines ageing in amphore for the domaine is about 40% which is very unique in Burgundy and add purity of fruit and terroir transparency. Bottled unified and unfiltered or light filtration." - Mosaique, Importer

"A very pinot-like nose reflects notes of red and dark fruit along with subtle spice nuances. There is a lovely sense of vibrancy to the delicious middleweight flavors that tighten up noticeably on the rustic, powerful and sneaky long finale. This will definitely need a few years of keeping as it's presently pretty robust." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
