"Within the Ladoix Village appellation, the lieu-dit "Le Clou" has reverted to its historical name of "Cloud" upon becoming part of the estate. Harvesting was particularly challenging because all vineyards reached maturity simultaneously. After significant rainfall accelerated deterioration, a team of 180 pickers harvested all 22 hectares in a record eight days. Extensive sorting was required to remove sunburnt berries, acetic punctures and minor rot, especially as the estate's sulphur-free winemaking demands pristine fruit.
Early impressions of the wines are very encouraging. They show excellent balance, lower alcohol than the 2022 and 2020 vintages, and vibrant fruit expression from whole-cluster fermentation.
