Description
"Hand-picked fruit hailing from Island Mountain Vineyard in Porongurup blended with fruit taken from our vineyard in the Great Southern's Denmark region. A mix of clones from 114, 115 and D5V12. The fruit was gently destemmed and left to ferment by wild yeast. After 10 days maceration on skins, the ferments were basket pressed to a combination of old oak as well as slightly newer large fromat oak vessels where the wine finished fermentation and underwent natural malolactic fermentation. After 12 months elevage the barrels were blended before coarse filtration and bottling. The wine displays characters of ripe red berries, menthol and spice on a generous, plush palate reflective of the warm, dry year that was the 2024 growing season." - Ryan O'Meara, Express Winemakers
