// Certified organic, young vine Nebbiolo
"Bright ruby red color, with the typical hue of Nebbiolo. Suave fragrance on the nose, mountain berries, raspberry, purple-toned inner florals and cassis, a touch of licorice. The palate is enveloping, with just the lightest touch of fizz and a soft crunchy texture. Complex bouquet of orange peels, raspberries, fresh black cherry and a very lifted, refreshing finish." - G.D. Vajra, Winemaker
"Claré JC is a Nebbiolo made according to a 1606 note by Gian Battista Croce, the jeweler of the House of Savoia. This wine is a time-capsule into an era when Nebbiolo wines tasted fresher, slightly crisp and smooth. This is a wine for people who are young at heart and curious about the forgotten past of Piemonte." - Giuseppe Vaira, Winemaker, G.D. Vajra
"The 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo Claré JC is a very pretty wine. Crushed red berry fruit, chalk and mint open, with a touch of savoriness from the 20% stems that adds lift. This fresh, nuanced Langhe Nebbiolo is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. The 2024 is a bit slender, but it's attractive just the same. This is an especially translucent style." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"I have to wonder if the style played especially well into the 2024 vintage, a particularly challenging one plagued by spring rain, summer warmth, August hail and autumn rain, because this is extremely charming. It's Nebbiolo though and through, a little flirtatiously reticent at first, then relaxing into sour cherry and cherry-bark flavours, notes of liquorice, fennel and pepper around the edges. It's as translucent in flavour as it is in cherry-red hue, yet the acidity drives the flavours deep and the fine tannins hold them long. It's light enough to drink on its own, and especially good with a light chill, but it has the presence to match roast pork belly or equally meaty fare. And it's a deal at the less that $25 it retails for in the US." - Tara Q Thomas, Jancis Robinson
