"The vines were planted on hard clays mixed with deep alluvial loam. Vine age gives a density to the wine via small bunches and a strong but velvety tannin structure. Deep crimson. Dark berry, black olive, sandalwood aromas. Impressively concentrated dark berry espresso, sandalwood flavours and underlying cedar tannins. "An incredibly proportioned shiraz sourced from 120-year-old vines on the Greenock Creek estate in western Barossa. I'm always amazed at the balance Greenock Creek achieve in these wines. Now, this is full-bodied to be sure, but the line and flow shows a distinct elegance and grace, tannins fine and chewy, the fruit pure and a mix of red and dark tones studded with spice, floral facets and roasting meats.
