Description
"The oak presence in the two new estate ‘Acre’ wines is more pronounced than I recall, here the palate more tinged than the bouquet, but omnipresent at this stage. It’s dry in the palate, chewy and dusty, cedar/clove, pencil shavings, dried leaf and bitter herbs over dark cherry, plum, salted liquorice. The perfume is more about those primary fruits, cherry-berry, boysenberry, kirsch and white pepper. Pleasing intro, the palate a little grippy and firm to get stuck into right now, that oak layer almost a little resinous and finishes the wine woody and twiggy. That being said, the power and structure is impressive and cellar time hopefully brings it into shape." - 93+ Points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
