"65/35% chardonnay/pinot noir. No mlf, eight years on lees, 3g/L dosage and disgorged October 2023. Ripe lemon skin, golden apple, lanolin, lemon myrtle and dried paper bark. Shattered oyster shell, dry sand and chalk powder. Roasted pine nut, candlenut and brie cheese skin. Undulating pools of acidity followed by blush cherries, yuzu and pineapple. "84 months on lees (which is pretty amazing). 65% chardonnay, 35% pinot noir. Grown at 980 metres asl. Very low dosage (5 grams/litre). Tasted blind at the Jete Global Sparkling Tasting.
The even glide. The sweetness to the citrus. The pure delivery of flavour. This is clean, straight down the line, and very good. Red apples, pears, yellow stonefruit and a candied bon bon character, though it finishes dry and (pleasingly) oystery.
