"With maturing vines and a truly favourable year for Gewurz, this wine speaks with real accuracy and pride of its place. This, along with slow, whole bunch pressings, wild ferments and extended lees contact, has resulted in a wine which is defined by remarkable grace and clarity." - Winemaker Notes
"Initially reductive, this needs time and air to clear up. Crystalised ginger, fruit cake and cinnamon. This has a wild honey, savoury, 'animale' profile rather than floral. The palate balances a touch of sweetness with predominantly savoury, textural elements which finish with noticeable phenolic grip. Some manuka honey emerges on the end along with some gamy, earthy flavours. An unusual expression of the variety, especially as the reduction holds it back currently, but given a couple of years development, it will come right and the wine will sing." - Stephen Wong, The Real Review
