It shape shifts in the glass, which is a good thing in many respects, on opening a little reluctant and curious in its profile, with time it finds a lighter shimmy though tannins are quite pronounced. Scents and flavours of maraschino cherry, tart cherry, cumin and cinnamon, tobacco, clove, dusty chocolate, white pepper, a pumice stone quality and then a rasp of almost graphite-dusted sandpaper in terms of texture. A cooling, medicinal, botanical vermouth-like element too. The tannin grip overriding and grunty on the tongue. There’s merit here. Take your time." - 91 Points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
