// 83% Pinot Gris and 17% Pinot Noir
"A small-batch experimental release. Named after the Italian word for “light”, it reflects our progressive approach to innovation in both vineyard and winery. The Lume is a wine of three parts. Pinot Gris was harvested from our Tamar Valley and Coal River vineyards in March at perfect ripeness, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel to retain freshness and varietal aromatics. A portion of the Pinot Gris was kept separate, fermented on skins and aged in Italian clayver to build texture and complexity. Pinot Noir was hand harvested from our Tamar Valley vineyard and given a short maceration on skins before being pressed and fermented in stainless steel. The Pinot Noir was then blended with the other components, adding a vibrant red fruit dimension to the exotic, textural Pinot Gris. Pulsing with unctuous fruit…almost exotic and yet still with neatness and a herbal thread. Textural, ‘skinsy’ feel, bold, but not broad- there’s a saline tang, while brimming with a flush of red-berries… Drink icy cold on a hot day – super refreshing." - Winemaker Notes
