// 97% Sauvignon Blanc, 2% Semillon, 1% Sauvignon Gris.
"Since 1984, Cape Crest has developed an international following for its unique expression of New Zealand sauvignon blanc. Barrel fermented, with a touch of semillon and sauvignon gris, it is concentrated and complex with toast, citrus blossom, grapefruit and tropical characters." - Te Mata Estate, Winemaker
"Te Mata have introduced some new Bordeaux clones here (905) and the wine goes through about 80% malolactic. Release date is March 2025.
Cape gooseberry, blackcurrant, florals, saline notes, baking spice, a bit of leaf and grass, fennel tips, with a slight vanilla creaminess. Bright and juicy, bursts with grapefruit, blackcurrant and fresh pineapple, quite intense in acidity, though it’s both tangy and freshening, and there’s some flinty texture and discreet creaminess in the mix, along with some woody spices. The finish is sappy and citrus laden, with a distinct grapefruity bite. This is a very good release, and likely to age especially well." - 94+ Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
