Description / Reviews
David Powell started Torbreck Wines in the Barossa Valley in 1994, and it wasn't long before the wines received critical acclaim from both consumers and critics, and the prestige of their name has only grown since. There is no doubt, however, that the past decade has seen a notable paradigm shift in their winemaking approach, led by Ian Hongell, who took the reigns back in 2017. Many have echoed the same sentiment; these wines have never looked better, with an increased focus towards greater precision, freshness and structural elegance. Using their historic ancient vines to continue on the legacy on their most beloved labels, Ian has spearheaded a fantastic new chapter for this Barossa heavyweight.
We have a close relationship with the great team at Torbreck, so we are beyond thrilled to be given the chance to host Ian for a close preview of all their biggest names, including RunRig, The Laird and The Forebear, over a special evening on Thursday 30th of April at our Education Centre! Tickets are available now, with the finer details and the night's full lineup listed down below.
There are only a trickle of houses across our nation that can boast as grand a red wine catalogue has these guys can, and they'll each make for one tremendous evening come later this month when we have the fortune of hosting Ian. We hope the Torbreck faithful among you, both new and old, are able to join us!
