"The Rende vineyard boasts an altitude exceeding 200m above sea level. The top soil is pure sand, with clay and red ironstone pockets below the surface. The rejuvenation of this vineyard has seen the return of many plants and animal species. Not all are native, and some more beneficial than others, they do however contribute to creating an ecosystem and profile true to this site. Lennon Vineyard, located closer to the ocean, sits on grey and red mottled clay giving richness and density to the wine. Profile & Structure: Grapefruit, pomegranate, fine herbs, mineral acidity balanced with a touch of fine tannin. Prettiness and purity captured from time in stainless steel tank, with roundness and mouthfeel from concrete sphere and egg, lees contact and 100% malo." - Winemaker Notes
"Mourvèdre from the Lennon vineyard complements the home Rende vineyard grenache and syrah. A ruddy orange hue. This is another serious rosé from Vanguardist. Savoury, riffing on Italian digestivo and vermouth – orange peel, bitter herbs, coriander seeds, cinnamon, angelica – paired with tamarind, sour plum, pomegranate, cherry juice and wild thyme. The mouthfeel and architecture are as engaging as the flavour palette, chewy, silty, faintly slippery, concluding with crisp dryness.
