Description / Reviews
"Fragrant pink lady apple, orange blossom, delicate rose, background red fruits and hints of savoury spice aromatics. The palate has flavours of pomelo, pomegranate and strawberry fruits along with some herby and floral characters. Is fresh and vibrant with a fine and delicate structure with a line of mineral acidity.
A blend of Grenache fruit from younger vines giving fresh fruit aromas and flavours, combined with Grenache fruit from 50-year-old dry grown bush vines for depth, spice, and complexity. The young vineyard block of Grenache was planted from cuttings taken from the 100 year old Smart vineyard that we use for one of our single vineyard wines. The vines are grown in sandy soils over ironstone in the Blewitt Springs sub region of McLaren Vale and benefit from the cooling breezes flowing down from the Mount Lofty Ranges and in from the nearby coast." - Willunga 100, Winemaker
"From the home Blind Spot vineyard, using younger-vine fruit and some 50-year-old bush vine material to add depth. Such a delicate, brilliant pink. Pretty. On the nose, too. Essence of strawberry, rose, cinnamon, a hint of guava and pink grapefruit. It’s lightly framed, taut, with a cranberry juice textural pith giving it another dimension. A few more months in bottle should yield a little more – welcome – volume. Still delicious as is" - 93 Points, Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion
"Blewitt Springs eternal. Pale, dry, crisp and refreshing. Strawberry flavours for the most part but with fragrant herb, sweet spice and apple as minor contributors. There isn’t a lot of flavour here but it works nicely regardless. There’s a smidgen of character, and texture, and it just feels and tastes pleasant as it flows." - 91 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
