"Reduction and wood toast dominate the nose. Otherwise, there is excellent density to the rich to the point of opulent flavors that don't have quite the same vibrancy as the best of the range though they do possess the hallmark minerality of a fine Grandes Ruchottes. "The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Grands Ruchottes 1er Cru had just been racked at the time of this tasting. It has a very expressive bouquet with citrus fruit, lemon curd and crushed stone scents that gain intensity in the glass.
