Tolpuddle 2025 - The New Release

Tolpuddle 2025 - The New Release

Published by Shaniah Ugarte - The Wine Emporium on 2nd Oct 2026

Martin Shaw and Michael Hill-Smith MW continue to impress with the newest release of their coveted Tasmanian label; Tolpuddle. Likely the most requested wine in the store, anticipation grows year on year. The 2025 vintage in the Coal River Valley flowed with ease from welcome rainfall in Winter through to a slightly later harvest, resulting in excellent acid retention, incredible structure and ever-developing flavour.

We are extremely lucky, and grateful to receive our allocation today. Stocks are limited, as always. Whether you are an avid follower, or a newer fan, we encourage you to add these wines to your collection. To drink now, or to cellar.

All orders are limited to 6 bottles of Chardonnay.
We appreciate your understanding

Tolpuddle Chardonnay 2025
Available for $119

// Extremely limited quantities, maximum 6 bottles
"Tight and intricately detailed, as always, with bright citrus, peach and white nectarine fruits overseen by a mist of flint and struck-march complexity. Hints of grilled hazelnuts, almond butter, vanillin oak, clover blossom, crushed riverstone, crème fraîche, ozone, oatmeal and sea spray. Lightly textural, with a beautiful taut mineral line, the flavours precise and drawn out along its length. This has a tight mineral cadence, a touch of apple-skin pithiness, preserved lemon, nougat and a pristine, sustained finish with a flair of umami. This is a producer and a site that is in the finest of form. No wonder the French are nervous – once again, world-class Australian chardonnay." - 97+ Points, Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

"This edition of Tolpuddle Chardonnay is a classic in the making. It has three key features: unforced complexity, an impression of effortlessness, and outstanding length. It tastes of iron, grilled peach, lemon, tonic water and nougat, though there's an underpinning of umami and a subtle flintiness in play too. It's al quite exquisite. It's all quite fa
bulous." - 97 Points, Campbell Mattinson, CampbellMattinson.com

Tolpuddle Pinot Noir 2025
Available for $119

"This is a wonderful expressive pinot noir from one of Tasmania's finest sites. 50% whole bunches in '25, and those filigreed amaro and dried spice elements are woven beautifully into the wine. The fruit base is pure dark cherry, damson plum and wild strawberry fruits, with souk-like spice, dried meats. Chinese barbecue shop, shiitake broth, dried citrus rind, meadow flowers and layers of spice and rocky nuance. It's an immediately attractive wine, with blossoming flavours kept in check by fine, sinewy tannins, taut, mineral-laden acidity and a long draw of flavour on the finish, the wine sailing gracefully and true throughout." - 96+ Points, Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

"The ascension of Tolpuddle Pinot Noir continues at speed. This is another superb release; it's structured, it's balanced, it's lengthy and yet – once it has all the credentials of quality covered – it's also generous, and indeed delicious. This is a Pinot Noir that you want to both stand and admire, and sink into. Plush cherry-plum flavours meet sweet spice, roasted nuts, undergrowth and roses. You can't help but be impressed; for flavour, feel and length, this wine has all the angles covered." - 96 Points, Campbell Mattinson, CampbellMattinson.com
