Description / Reviews

"Sustainable culture, no herbicides. Partial grassing with mechanical working of the soil. Harvested by hand only, in openwork crates of 15 KG. The bunches are cooled and 100% destemmed before vatting in wooden vats for 2 weeks. Cold pre-fermentation maceration before alcoholic fermentation using indigenous yeasts. Gentle extraction by alternating manual punch downs and pump overs. In French oak barrels for 12 months. 25% new barrels, then blended for 6 months in vats before bottling." - Bader Mimeur, Winemaker

"From old-vine Pinot Noir planted behind the Château itself (Champ Derrière), this wine showcases the elegance and structure of Chassagne-Montrachet red Burgundy. The 55–75-year-old vines grow on deep clay-limestone soils that naturally retain moisture — a real advantage in today’s warmer vintages.

Hand-picked and fully destemmed, the wine is fermented in open wooden vats before maturing 12 months in French oak (25% new). Supple and refined, it reflects the depth and freshness that define the best Burgundy Pinot Noir from the Côte de Beaune." - Franc About Wine, Importer

"Ripe and acceptably fresh aromas of pepper, red and dark cherry and plenty of earth character are trimmed in all but invisible wood. There is reasonably good density to the attractively textured, if not especially vibrant, middleweight flavors that offer only average depth and length on the mildly rustic finale." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
