Description / Reviews

"Cold soaked on skins for 10 days. Pressed off after 4 days before completing most of its fermentation in stainless steel then transferred to neutral oak for 8-months." - Jessop, Winemaker

"You gain a clear sense of Chris Jessop’s palate across his portfolio – not through any heavy-handed influence, but in the way his small-batch wines articulate place, texture and drinkability with quiet clarity. The Sagrantino is a case in point. Perfumed violets, juniper and wild thistle rise confidently from the glass, leading into a palate shaped by gentle extraction following a cold soak. Fine tannins carry the wine with grace, their structure softened by the roundness imparted through neutral oak maturation. It remains true to the sagrantino idiom, yet shows a more generous, approachable expression – juicier, mealier and notably supple – without sacrificing its varietal integrity." - 94 Points, Shanteh Wale, Halliday Wine Companion (2024 Vintage)
